Where "little" go?
My sister-in-law, Jeanna, recently changed the screen saver image on her computer.
Her son, Oscar, is a little over two years old now. Her new screen saver is a picture of Oscar when he was just 10 months old. When Jeanna showed Oscar his ten month photo on her computer she explained to him that the picture was of him when he was little.
Oscar's response? "Where 'little' go?"
There's a question for us all!
Our recently adopted son, Elijah, is now ten months old. our daughter, Tabitha, is ten years old.
"Where 'little' go?"

Unfortunately "little" goes into busyness. In todays world of get there fast, work longer to get ahead and always trying to do more, we tend to ignore the things that matter most.
Maybe in todays economic climate with everyone watching what they spend, hopefully we will all take a step back and the evenings of everyone going their own direction will be replaced by the "boring" family dinners and "movie night" at home.
When our kids were little we spent most weekends at my grandparents home playing cards or watching movies while the kids enjoyed great-grandma's house. We always got to make dinner with her and then she had a homemade pie for dessert.
I know that I worked too much when the kids were younger, but we always made time to enjoy "little."

Although I don't have kids yet, your blog reminded me of a precious song by Trace Atkins called "And Then They Do." The lyrics made me cry for my future children and that all-to-familiar question parents ask, "Where did the time go?" Here is a little of the lyrics:

I only have one child and I work full time, go to school and I have always been told to cherish every bit of him. So I do even if that means babying him a little (he is 8 but sometimes acts 3)he loves it and he and I have always had a close relationship and I hope to continue that because he will always be my baby.
Don't worry. I was little once, or so they tell me.
And usually, as is our natural instinct, little gets big and then often gives way to even more littles (eventually).
