Welcome to Quito
Inte is ten years old and will travel with a guardian, ten hours by bus, to spend time with me. Very humbling.
Julie, Tabs and I pray every single day that Inte will have enough to eat, a warm place to sleep and that God will keep her safe. We pray for things that most of us take for granted.
This is my prayer for my time with this little girl: "God, please help me to be Jesus to Inte. May we laugh together. May we draw each other closer to Jesus Christ. Please let Inte be encouraged and filled with hope. Please use Inte to bring Your joy and Your peace to this broken world."
Sleep well Inte.

It's really great that you and Julie have Tabs involved with Inte. Sierra and I pray every night for the people on the margins of society. We even pray a similar prayer like you do...that they would have something to eat and have a place to sleep and that someone would tell them about Jesus. As parents, when we do this with our kids, when they grow up, compassion will just be a natural thing for them.
I love how RiverTree has all kinds of ministries that kids can get involved in, like the ones we do at Christmas. Sierra just loves to go shopping for package items for the kids. She gets so into it that I have to put the brakes on her or she'll try to stuff the whole store into a shoebox! =D
