You are what you eat

This coming weekend's teaching is You are what you eat. The Scripture we will be applying to our lives comes from 1 Peter 2:2-3: Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness.

The reality is that if we feed the spiritual person inside of us--the spiritual person will grow. On the other hand, if we feed the fleshly person inside of us--the fleshly person will grow. You are what you eat.

Just for fun . . . I've been thinking in the purest physical sense about what I love to eat. I have always loved Ho Hos and Kraft macaroni and cheese. However, most recently, my food vice of choice has been Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream--really amazing right before you go to bed!

What's your current food favorite?

Agreed with above! This week's sermon was awesome. I love how you make us laugh and cry in the same sermon. This morning I got ready without listening to the radio and I ate breakfast in silence instead of in front of the T.V. "Be still and know that I am God."

I'm already having a better day :)

My cat keeps trying to "feed herself" with my Saf-T-Pop. :) I guess the reminder is working!

Greg,
I am sitting in class (you know what that means) reading your blog. I felt like I should thank you for introducing me to Ben & Jerry's ice cream during our February offsite. Pam definitely agrees that you are what you eat...... My favorite is Chubby Hubby.

Two Wolves:

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said: 'My son, the battle is between 'two wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied: 'The one you feed.'
